According to one embodiment, an atmospheric observation system comprises a first observing part for obtaining short range data of a first section; a second observing part for obtaining long range data of a second section located at a further distance than the first section on the basis of an observer; and a data processing part for generating observation data for the entire section by joining the short range data of the first section and the long range data of the second section. The first observing part and the second observing part obtain data in different methods, and the short range data of the first section and the long range data of the second section can be matched on the basis of an observation time in the data processing part. Therefore, the present invention is capable of reliably obtaining the short range data which could not be observed when calculating a position profile of an atmospheric component.
