The present invention relates to a method for preparing a Centella asiatica extract containing a high yield and high purity of at least one of asiaticoside and madecassoside as a physiologically active ingredient. The method invention comprises: a step a) of grinding Centella asiatica; a step b) of mixing the ground Centella asiatica with water as a solvent; a step c) of sonicating the mixture obtained in the step b); a step d) of emitting focused ultrasound to the mixture sonicated in the step c); a step e) of sonicating the focused ultrasound treated mixture in the step d); and a step f) of emitting focused ultrasound to the mixture sonicated in the step e). In addition, the present invention relates to a Centella asiatica extract obtained according to the above method where the extract contains asiaticoside and/or madecassoside as a physiologically active ingredient in high content and high purity, and thus has excellent utility as a cosmetic.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
