The present invention relates to an apparatus to test rupture of a coupler for a scaffold, capable of minimizing rupture of scaffold parts, and a scaffold coupler rupture test method using the same. More specifically, the apparatus to test rupture of a coupler for a scaffold comprises: a pair of main frames installed on the upper part of a test bed by being spaced apart at a predetermined interval to face each other; a first specimen support frame installed on the top of any one from the main frames and including a first wheel bracket for fixing the position of the specimen; a second specimen support frame installed on the top of the other one from the main frames and including a second wheel bracket for fixing the position of the specimen; a load cell installed between the main frames and measuring a vertical load applied to the specimen; load equipment spaced apart from the upper part of the load cell to apply the vertical load to the specimen; and a data collection system to collect and store load data measured by the load cell. The first wheel bracket prevents horizontal movement of a vertical steel pipe while coming in contact with a part of the lower outer circumference of the vertical steel pipe and the second wheel bracket prevents the horizontal movement of the vertical steel pipe while coming in contact with a part of the upper outer circumference of the vertical steel pipe.
