The present invention relates to an air quality improvement system and method for the same using a gateway for environment care, which measure the air quality in an indoor space, drive an improvement apparatus in accordance with the measured status of air quality to improve the air quality and create a pleasant indoor environment. To this end, the air quality improvement system using the gateway for environment care comprises: one or more sensor apparatuses which measure the air quality in the indoor space to generate a sensing information; a monitoring apparatus which monitors the air quality in the indoor space based on the sensing information, and, when the monitored information is the same as or higher than a pre-set driving information, generates a driving signal; an improvement apparatus circulates the air in the indoor space in accordance with the driving signal, and, when the sensing information or circulation information on the circulated air in the indoor space is the same as or less than a pre-set improvement information, stops the air circulation in the indoor space; and the gateway on which the sensor apparatuses, monitoring apparatus, and improvement apparatus are connected to communicate with each other.
