According to various embodiments, an electronic device comprises a first communication module, a second communication module and a processor. The processor is as follows: using the first communication module or the second communication module to check the intensity of a signal received from an external electronic device; if the intensity satisfies a first designated condition, using a first designated frequency corresponding to the first communication module to transmit first data among data to be transmitted to the external electronic device to the external electronic device; using a second designated frequency corresponding to the second communication module to transmit second data among the data to the external electronic device; if the intensity satisfies a second designated condition, using the first designated frequency to check a location of the external electronic device with respect to the electronic device; using the second designated frequency to transmit the data at least based on the location to the external electronic device; and if the intensity satisfies a third designated condition, using one designated frequency corresponding to any one of the first and second designated frequencies to transmit the data to the external electronic device through the first and second communication modules. Various embodiments may be provided. Accordingly, the electronic device checks an intensity of signals received from an external electronic device to change a data communication environment according to states of received signals.
