According to the present invention, an augmented reality system capable of recognizing the writing of characters and manipulating an augmented reality object includes a mobile terminal. For displaying a three dimensional virtual image on the display, the mobile terminal displays a virtual object corresponding to the content of characters after recognizing the characters when a dotted line guide is displayed on the edge of the characters displayed on a display and writing is sensed along the dotted line guide; and when the virtual object is touched, reproduces the motion of a preset virtual object corresponding to the touched part.
