The present invention relates to an upper arrangement laundry treatment apparatus, a lower arrangement laundry treatment apparatus, a laundry treatment apparatus set in which a plurality of laundry treatment apparatuses are vertically arranged to increase space utilization, and a control method thereof. According to the present invention, the laundry treatment apparatus set comprises: a first laundry treatment apparatus including a first cabinet, a first drum forming a first treatment space containing laundry therein in the first cabinet, and a first driving unit providing driving force for rotating the first drum; a second laundry treatment apparatus including a second cabinet, a second drum forming a second treatment space containing laundry therein in the second cabinet, and a second driving unit providing driving force for rotating the second drum. At least one between the first and second laundry treatment apparatuses includes a sensing unit detecting whether the second laundry treatment apparatus is out of a predetermined set position with respect to the upper part of the first laundry treatment apparatus. The laundry treatment set further comprises a control unit stopping operation of at least one between the first and second driving units based on a detection result of the sensing unit when the second laundry treatment apparatus is out of the set position.
