摘要

Disclosed are a composition for regulating the expression of TERT on the basis of a correlation between prosper homeobox protein 1 (PROX1) and telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT), a method for screening a TERT expression regulator, a composition for detecting a TERT expression state, a detection kit, a method for providing information for detection, and a method for providing information for cancer diagnosis. The PROX1 of the present invention is capable of regulating the expression of TERT by binding to a mutant TERT promoter in which a substitution of a base has occured in a TERT promoter, particularly at -124 or -146bp position, and among liver cancers, can specifically inhibits the expression of TERT in the liver cancer derived from non-B hepatitis virus. Accordingly, the present invention can be used in various medical fields including a composition for regulating the expression of TERT, a composition for preventing or treating liver cancer derived from hepatitis B virus, and the like.
