The upper cryocytometer 2000 includes an outer shell 2001 surrounding the inner shell 2002 in a configuration spaced apart to define a chamber 2300 for holding the vaporizable material between the outer shell and the inner shell. The catheter includes a channel having an opening (2004) in the bottom portion of the intermediate wall to allow vaporizable material within the chamber to flow into the channel such that the vaporizable material in the channel is substantially horizontal with the vaporizable material in the chamber do. The inner wall 2005 of the channel includes a heater 2009 for heating the vaporizable material stored in the channel along the length of the inner wall to provide a more uniform temperature distribution through the vaporizable material. When the vaporizable material is heated and vaporized, the vapor rises and passes through the vapor outlet opening 2011 of the upper portion of the inner wall of the channel.
