The purpose of the present invention is to provide a construction method of a road bridge transverse direction extension joint device, wherein it is possible to easily replace a drainage sheet for preventing a leakage at low costs on a bottom floor of an end of a road bridge slab. According to the present invention, to achieve the purpose of the present invention, a road bridge transverse direction extension joint device comprises: a pair of vertical finishing plates arranged to face each other with respect to an extension clearance; a drainage sheet installed between a vertical finishing plate on one side and a vertical finishing plate on the other side; and a fixing clip plate fixed and installed on the inner side of the vertical finishing plates while covering the upper surface of the drainage sheet. A construction method of the road bridge transverse direction extension joint device comprises: a step of securing a slab extension clearance; a step of forming a slab cutting part by cutting slabs on the left and right sides to a predetermined depth and width with respect to the slab extension clearance; a step of fixating and installing the vertical finishing plates on the slab cutting part with an anchor bo a step of installing a drainage sheet between the vertical finishing plates installed to face each other on the slab cutting part; and a step of inserting a bolt into the fixing clip plate while covering the drainage sheet to fix and install the same on the vertical finishing plates.
