The present invention relates to a method for predicting Kawasaki disease by using EBF2 gene polymorphism. Kawasaki disease is an acute febrile exanthema that occurs mainly in infants of less than age five and may be accompanied by a coronary artery lesion. In advanced countries, Kawasaki disease has been pointed out as one of the most common reasons for acquired heart disease. However, there have been no specific assays for diagnosis of Kawasaki disease up to now and diagnosis is made merely according to clinical criteria. Hence, the disease is managed only by post-disease treatment other than pre-disease prevention. The method for predicting the onset of Kawasaki disease by using EBF2 gene polymorphism of the present invention, which is based on the investigation of correlation between Korean characteristic predisposition of EBF2 gene and onset of Kawasaki disease, can predict the onset likelihood of Kawasaki disease before incidence thereof and thus is expected to be greatly used in the medical field.
