The new calculation method of risk tolerance would prevent borrowers with variable interest rates getting into mortgage stress when variable interest rate home loan interest ratesincrease. This situation exists because variable interest rate home loan interest rates are usually at a lower rate than fixed rate housing loans interest rates.
