This device for assisting in the preparation of a gas inspection report is equipped with a first generating unit and a second generating unit. The first generating unit generates a representative still image which represents a time-series image. The second generating unit generates electronic data for the gas inspection report which includes the representative still image. If the first generating unit generates a representative still image using a time-series image which includes the gas region, a representative still image including the gas region is generated, and if a representative still image is generated using a time-series image which does not include the gas region, a representative still image not including the gas region is generated.
