Provided is an apparatus for estimating the binder content in recovered green sand, said apparatus analyzing the recovered green sand on a casting line in real time such that a binder to be included in the recovered green sand can be adjusted. Said apparatus is provided with: a compressibility value measurement device; a moisture content measurement device; a compressibility value and moisture content storage unit that stores a compressibility value and moisture content reference relationship representing the relationship between a reference content compressibility value and a moisture content in reference recovered green sand, and a compressibility value and moisture content offset relationship representing the relationship between a compressibility value and a moisture content in offset recovered green sand; and a binder content calculation unit that obtains a reference compressibility value of reference green sand corresponding to the measured moisture content on the basis of the compressibility value and moisture content reference relationship, obtains an offset compressibility value of the offset recovered green sand corresponding to the measured moisture content on the basis of the compressibility value and moisture content offset relationship, and estimates the content of a binder in to-be-recovered green sand on the basis of a reference content, an offset content, the measured compressibility value, the measured reference compressibility value, and the measured offset compressibility value.
