A single chip microcomputer watering system and watering method for a plastic greenhouse, the watering system comprising: a power source module, a detection module, a storage module, a watering module, a display module, an alarm module, an expansion module and a button module, which are all connected to a single chip microcomputer module; the single chip microcomputer module collects real-time temperature, humidity, soil moisture and liquid level data inside of the plastic greenhouse by means of the detection module, then processing the data and outputting a control signal, while storing the information. The single chip microcomputer watering system and the watering method may increase the economic benefit of the greenhouse, and may also control a water pump to automatically carry out watering so as to detect and precisely control soil moisture in the greenhouse, meet crop production needs, and achieve the purpose of intelligent irrigation to save water.
