Disclosed is a method for producing a polypeptide solution provided with a step in which a polypeptide is extracted from host cells that express a polypeptide derived from natural spider silk protein or a crushed form of said cells into an aqueous solution that contains a water-containing extraction solvent and has been heated to a predetermined temperature to obtain a polypeptide solution that contains the aqueous solution and the polypeptide dissolved therein. The predetermined temperature is 90-130°C.
