The invention relates to a calibration and testing field for digital cameras mounted on unmanned aerial platforms. According to the invention, the calibration and testing field consists of points of 3D coordinates, determined with an accuracy in the range of millimeters, using a full station, and placed in different planes, materialized in the terrain while taking the pictures needed for the calibration process, as geometric shapes that can be automatically identified and measured, the digital camera being tested by a comparative analysis regarding the accuracy and the detail of a 3D model created based on the pictures taken, a cloud of reference points of high accuracy resulting from the measurements achieved with a terrestrial laser scanner being also considered for the comparative analysis.
