The notification concerns a new strain of Rhizobium leguminosarum bv, trifolia KC3, deposited i n the Polish Collection of Microorganisms of the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of PAN i n Wroclaw, under B /00153, applicable for the fertilisation of leguminous plants, in the process of biological regeneration of soils contaminated with heavy metals. As shown in the studies, use of Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. Trifolium KC3 in red clover (Trifolium pratense) on substrates with varying degrees of Zn2 + ion contamination,Cd2 + or Pb2 +,significantly increases the number of root warts, the mass of roots and the mass of conifers, which also shows resistance to the action of these ions, predestines this strain to be used in the relatively rapid and effective recovery of contaminated soil heavy metals.
