The present invention relates to the handling and final disposal of the sludge generated in the treatment of wastewater by the addition of appropriate ionic surfactants, which react chemically with the coagulant polymers found in the wet sludge from the band filters or any other type of filtering process. Herein, solids separate from the polymer for the filtering and incineration thereof, obtaining ashes disposed sustainably and avoiding the environmental liability caused by wet sludge. The present invention allows, operationally for treatment plants, eliminating 70% of the heat load necessary to evaporate the sludge and further concentrate the solids, reducing the handling volumes, thus avoiding an environmentally controlled arrangement.
