JOINT COMPOSTING OF POSIDONIA OCEANICA ALGAE, ORGANIC AGRO-INDUSTRIAL SLUDGE AND ADDED NATURAL MENERALS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ORGANIC AGRICULTURAL COMPOST
Novelty: organic agricultural compost derived from the joint composting of posidonia oceanica algae with selective organic agro-industrial sludge and added natural composting-improving minerals. Production process: collection and transport of the posidonia algae to the processing area and mixing thereof with various organic sludge (e.g. sludge derived from oil presses, wineries and cheese production units) in a way that the proportions in carbon and nitrogen of the biomass is 30:1. These proportions foster the generation of microorganisms inciting the biological composting process and assist the slow decomposition process of the algae what leads to the nutritional components release. The production process lasts from 9 to 12 months. Embodiment: the resulted organic compost can be used as a fertilizer for the growth of plants, as a soil improver preventing the erosion and exhaustion of the soil, as a plant protector, as a bio-filter and as a material suited for being admixed with metal compositions and minerals derived from industrial units.
