Contact Lens to Prevent Myopia or Reduce Myopia Progression The present invention relates to a lens that is capable of preventing or retarding the progression of myopia when worn by a person. The lens has a power profile that reduces on-axis and off-axis hyperopic defocus created by the optical mechanisms of the eye by creating on-axis and off-axis myopic defocus. the on-axis and off-axis myopic defocus is created by providing for light rays passing through a central region of view of the optics and for light rays passing through a peripheral region of the optics an increase in power positive (more). The overall effect is to prevent or slow the progression of myopia without any noticeable degradation in the person's central vision.
