an arrangement for in situ remediation of a bearing assembly rotatably coupling a vessel to a turret about a longitudinal axis. an inner ring assembly is coupled to the tower and an outer ring assembly is coupled to the vessel. A set of support rows connected between the inner and outer ring assemblies allows the outer ring assembly to rotate relative to the inner ring assembly and axially transfers the weight from the tower to the vessel. A set of radial rows and a centralizer are arranged between the inner and outer ring assemblies. The radial row assembly typically transfers the radial load from the vessel to the tower and the centralizer has a radial clearance with the outer ring assembly. During in situ repair of the radial or support row assembly, the centralizer transfers the radial load from the vessel to the tower and maintains substantial concentricity of the inner and outer ring assemblies.
