The present disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a laminate structure composed of a wind turbine blade portion by resin transfer molding, preferably vacuum assisted resin transfer molding. the fiber reinforcing material is impregnated with liquid resin in a mold cavity, wherein the mold cavity comprises a rigid mold part having a mold surface defining a surface of the wind turbine blade part. The method comprises alternative stacking in the rigid part of the mold: i) several fiber reinforcing layers comprising electrically conductive fibers such as carbon fibers, and ii) a flux strip layer in the form of a flux strip layer with a strip width and which are arranged to form voids of an empty width between two juxtaposed strips. The method comprises sealing a second mold part against the rigid mold part to form the mold cavity. The method optionally comprises evacuating the mold cavity as in vacuum infusion. The method comprises providing a resin to the mold cavity, that is, the infusion phase. The method comprises curing or hardening the resin to form the composite laminate structure.
