computer-implemented joint inversion method to create a 3d rock representation of a subsurface rock structure using petrophysical data, and computer system configured to perform a petrophysical data set joint inversion to obtain a 3d rock representation of a rock structure underground. The present invention enables the use of a global optimization method to perform the joint inversion of multiple petrophysical data sets, using advanced models based on the basic principles of physics, to generate a 3d rocky representation of a subsurface rock structure. The resulting 3D rock representation captures the internal structure and recognizes the measured petrophysical properties of the underground rock structure. Then, the 3D rock representation can be used to predict additional properties not considered in inversion to better characterize the underground rock structure.
