PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leakage fluid diffusion prevention device and a leakage fluid diffusion prevention method capable of preventing a leaking treatment fluid from diffusing around.SOLUTION: A leakage fluid diffusion prevention device 1 for preventing the diffusion of a treatment fluid leaking from flange portions 5a and 5b coupling pipes 4a and 4b, comprises: a flange portion cover 7 accommodating the flange portions 5a and 5b air-tightly and liquid-tightly; a spray pipe 15 connected to the flange portion cover 7, and spraying a detoxification fluid corresponding to the treatment fluid leaking into the flange portion cover 7; and a drain pipe 16 connected to the flange portion cover 7, and discharging the detoxicated treatment fluid and the detoxification fluid from within the flange portion cover 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
