PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal nanowire growth control agent capable of providing a metal nanowire dispersion hardly aggregating when a metal nanowire is dispersed in an organic solvent, excellent in storage stability and easy to be re-dispersed, the metal nanowire and a dispersion thereof, and a manufacturing method of the metal nanowire dispersion.SOLUTION: There is provided a metal nanowire growth control agent containing a copolymer (c) having an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound having a substituent (b) as a constitutional unit, and the substituent of the unsaturated carbonyl compound (b) is a (poly)oxyalkylene group represented by -(AO)-R, where A=alkylene, R=hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an alkanoyl group and n is an integer of 1 or more, or a group containing an ester bond.SELECTED DRAWING: None
