PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for obtaining a measurement result instantly by directly measuring a living body of a cow as a measuring target.SOLUTION: A method for estimating a radioactive cesium concentration in a muscle of a living cow includes: restraining the cow; measuring an energy spectrum of a -ray by pressing a scintillation detector against a body surface of the restrained cow; calculating a counting rate of a -ray peak originating in the radioactive cesium, from the -ray energy spectrum; and calculating the radioactive cesium concentration in the muscle of the cow from the calculated counting rate of the -ray peak, by using calibration curve data for converting the counting rate of the -ray peak originating in the radioactive cesium measured by the scintillation detector into the radioactive cesium concentration.
