A method for identifying a subject, eg, a subject with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), and optionally treating that subject based on detecting elevated levels of soluble P-glycoprotein in nasal secretions. The method of treatment can include administration of a therapeutically effective amount of a P-glycoprotein inhibitor.
