PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion member capable of preventing a lateral leak of excitation light or wavelength conversion light, and increasing extraction efficiency of light.;SOLUTION: The wavelength conversion member 1 comprises: a bottom plate glass 2; a frame-shaped side wall 3 disposed on the bottom plate glass 2; a glass cover 4 disposed above the side wall 3; and a wavelength conversion layer 5 disposed in a container 6 constituted of the bottom plate glass 2 and the side wall 3, and configured so as to be excited by the incidence of excitation light to emit fluorescent light. The side wall 3 comprises: a bottom surface 3a opposite to the bottom plate glass 2; an upper surface 3b opposite to the glass cover 4; and a side surface 3c opposite to the wavelength conversion layer 5, and a surface layer part on the bottom surface 3a side, the upper surface 3b side, and the side surface 3c side in the side wall 3 is constituted of metal.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
