PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex combustor capable of reducing combustion sound to attain excellent quietness, and a portable power generator using the vortex combustor.;SOLUTION: A vortex combustor 1 for forming vortex flame in a combustion chamber 11 comprises a plurality of introduction parts 12 configured to introduce gas of fuel gas and air toward a tangential direction of an inner surface of the combustion chamber 11, and provided in a multistage manner in an axial direction of the combustion chamber, where a ratio of the fuel gas in the gas introduced from an upstream side introduction part (first introduction part 121) of the introduction parts 12 is larger than that introduced from a downstream side introduction part (second introduction part 122) thereof. With this constitution, combustion can be performed stepwise, so that an abrupt pressure rise in the combustion chamber 11 can be suppressed.
