A detection system 1 is provided with a water consumption amount acquisition unit 11, a water usage calculation unit 12, an operation frequency calculation unit 13, a use type determination unit 14, and an association generation unit 15. The acquisition unit 11 acquires a water consumption amount from a water meter. The calculation unit 12 acquires the water usage time, the number of times water is used, the water consumption amount, and the standard deviation of the water consumption amount per unit time each time water is used on the basis of the water consumption amount. The calculation unit 13 acquires the relationship (first relationship) between the water usage time and the operation frequency for a use on the basis of the water usage time acquired by the calculation unit 12. The determination unit 14 determines, on the basis of the number of times water is used and the standard deviation, the use type of uses for which the operation frequency meets a predetermined condition in the first relationship. For each use type, the generation unit 15 associates the use type with the water consumption and the water usage time.
