PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil modification material capable of bringing pH of a soil contaminated by heavy metal or the like close to neutral, for example keeping the pH in a range of 5.8 to 8.6, which is an effluent standard, by applying the same to the soil.SOLUTION: There is provided a soil modification material for bringing pH of a soil contaminated by heavy metal or the like close to neutral by applying the same to the soil, containing gypsum hemihydrate of 40 to 93 mass%, ferrous sulfate of 5 to 50 mass% and lime of 2 to 35 mass% and having fluorine elution amount of 0.8 mg/L or less when an elution solution of the soil modification material is measured by a method according to appendix 6 "measurement method of fluorine" of Showa 46, December 28th, Environment Agency notification No.59, "Environmental Standard regarding to Water Contamination" or "JIS K 0102:2013 (industrial waste water test method".SELECTED DRAWING: None
