PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitrogen oxide absorbing and storing material excellent in absorbing and storing performance to nitrogen oxide at a low temperature, an exhaust gas purification catalyst, and an exhaust gas purification device.;SOLUTION: There are provided a nitrogen absorbing and storing material containing first composite oxide 2 represented by the general formula I:AaBbCcO8.5-δ, an exhaust gas purification catalyst carrying the same on a carrier, and an exhaust gas purification device. The first composite oxide has an absorbing and storing site to nitrogen oxide. In the general formula I, A is at least one kind selected from a group consisting of a rare earth element, Ca and In, B is at least one kind selected from a group consisting of an alkali earth metal element, C is at least one kind selected from a group consisting of a transition metal element, Al, Zn and Ga, and a, b, c and δ satisfy 0a≤1, 0b≤1, 0c≤4, and 0δ≤1.5 respectively.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
