To provide an apparatus for producing titanium tetrachloride that is configured to form a chlorine gas and a fluidized layer composed of a titanium oxide-containing ore and coke within a fluid chlorination furnace and with the temperature kept high, give a titanium tetrachloride gas, the fluidized layer being supplied with the chlorine gas in a uniform manner by preventing the clogging of gas blowing ports of a bottom plate that is caused by the reduction in diameter of chlorine-resistant particles constituting an insulating layer disposed on the bottom plate.SOLUTION: With an insulating layer disposed above a bottom plate, a plurality of nozzles fixed to through holes of the bottom plate, and chlorine gas blowing ports of the nozzles disposed at a higher position than an upper surface of the insulating layer, a chlorine gas is supplied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
