PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding device which controls a temperature difference between AS (advancing side) and RS (retreating side) at the time of friction stir welding according to a state and a welding condition of a welded member, and can perform welding of high quality (high accuracy), and a friction stir welding method.;SOLUTION: A friction stir welding device comprises: a welding tool which is configured from a shoulder part and a probe part, and is inserted in a welded member and is rotated; a device body which holds the welding tool; a controller which controls operation of the welding tool; a first temperature sensor which measures a temperature of AS (advancing side) of the welded member; and a second temperature sensor which measures RS (retreating side) of the welded member. At least any one of a rotational speed and an advance speed of the welding tool is controlled based on the welding temperature measured by the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
