The present invention belongs to the field of machining residual stress and discloses a method for adjusting a residual stress machining parameter by parameter inversion calculation. The method includes (a) a step of obtaining a characteristic index indicating the characteristic of the residual stress distribution from the residual stress distribution curve, and (b) presetting initial values of processing parameters for adjusting the residual stress, and Calculating an initial value, creating a curve indicating a change in the characteristic index due to the machining parameter, obtaining a fitting curve; and (c) forming a relational expression between the characteristic index increase of each machining parameter and the fitting curve, respectively. According to the present invention, it is possible to realize a quantitative adjustment to the machining residual stress, the operation of the method is simple, the number of trials is small, the manufacturing cost is reduced, and the machining residual stress distribution in the workpiece.
