To provide a tuning-fork type piezoelectric oscillation piece that enhances stiffness of an oscillation arm and has favorable characteristics even when the tuning-fork type piezoelectric oscillation piece becomes extremely small, and a tuning-fork type piezoelectric oscillator using the same.SOLUTION: A tuning-fork type piezoelectric oscillation piece 2 comprises: a base 20; oscillation arms 21,22 that protrude from the base and in which excitation electrodes 25, 26 are formed; and long grooves G1 to G4 formed on a principal surface of the oscillation arm. The long groove has a longitudinal direction along a direction into which the oscillation arm protrudes and a width direction along a direction orthogonal to the direction into which the oscillation arm protrudes. In the long groove, part of the excitation electrode is formed and a bridge section is formed that is not formed in parallel to neither above longitudinal direction nor width direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
