The invention relates to a method for controlling at least one reflector device (120) in an operating environment (100). The at least one reflector device (120) is designed to reflect locating signals (160) from at least one object (140) in the use environment (100) as reflection signals (165). The method includes at least one step of translating the at least one reflector device (120) into periodic motion to effect Doppler shift of the reflection signals (165) relative to the location signals (160).
