The present invention relates to a process for the determination of the corrosion behavior of a copper alloy in contact with water, the method comprising the steps of:(a) providing a test specimen of the copper alloy;(b) introducing the test specimen for a predetermined time in an environment under an elevated temperature, in particular in a drying oven at an elevated temperature, wherein the test specimens at least partially dips into a water-based test medium;(c) periodically updating the test medium based on water during the test period;(d) removing the test specimen from the environment with an increased temperature;(e) cutting open of the test specimen; and(f) optical assessment, in particular microscopic and preferably light microscopy assessment, in step (e) cross-sectional representation of the obtained.n="15"
