To provide a trackingless projection-based Augmented Reality (AR) method and system for assembly support of manufacturing assets, particularly for locating track mounting hardware components in wagon construction, which optimizes the manufacturing process of the assets in terms of time, cost, and error rate are, preferably a mobile AR projection unit (PJE) for locating mounting positions (MTP) in the product to be manufactured (ZWA) with respect to a mounting position (MTP) to be located by means of stored on the basis of the AR -Projection unit (PJE) supplied design, work plan and 3D model information of the item (ZWA) determined and stored position data positioned and aligned, - the AR projection unit (PJE) established on the basis of calibration generated, stored calibration data, - a projection image in Form and ge calculates an assembly template with Spatial Augmented Reality-based methods based on the stored position data, the projection properties of the projection unit, the stored calibration data, and the stored 3D model information; and calculates the calculated projection image to the mounting position in the item to be manufactured corresponding control of the AR projection unit superimposed.
