The invention relates to a method for checking the authenticity of a security feature which contains an anti-Stokes phosphor in which the wavelength of an electromagnetic emission is shorter than the wavelength of an absorbed electromagnetic excitation radiation. The method includes a calibration mode and a test mode. In calibration mode, multiple calibration patterns are excited at least in one attack phase and one decay phase. In test mode, the excitation of the security feature to be tested, the detection of the emission response at a first control time (τ) and at a second control time (τ), determining the slope of the detected emission response and the classification of the security feature to be tested takes place. The invention also relates to Arrangement for checking the authenticity of a security document with a security feature.
