FIELD: environmental protection.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, and specifically to methods for eliminating oil and petroleum products spills, using a quantitative assessment of environmental risk factors. Purpose of the proposed invention is to assess the environmental risk associated with oil spills and oil products and to take measures to ensure environmental safety. Groups of risk factors proposed by the present invention in terms of the amount of oil and oil products spilled, the speed of building up the forces and means for liquidating oil and oil products spill, according to the estimated time for liquidation of oil and oil products spill at the maximum wind speed are fundamental in assessing the environmental situation. Number of points for each risk factor in each group of factors, in accordance with the amount of spilled oil and oil products, is also an objective characteristic of the environmental situation. Total number of points, which determine the final risk factor, objectively reflects the current ecological situation, on which a decision on necessary measures to reduce environmental tension is made. Technical result is the determination of the risk of oil and oil products spill and an assessment of the ecological situation state in the parameters, corresponding to the Decree of the Government of RF of May 21, 2007 No. 304 “On the classification of emergencies of natural and technogenic nature”.;EFFECT: technical result is the determination of the risk of oil and oil products spill and an assessment of the ecological situation state.;1 cl, 5 tbl
