FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: water-borne alkyd pentaphthalic lacquer VPF-050 is produced by the interaction of triglycerides of fatty acids of semi-drying oil, polyhydric alcohol and aromatic dicarboxylic anhydride at the molar ratio of 1.0:3.2-3.7:4.2-4.7, respectively. Further, the lacquer base is dissolved in the mixture of ethyl cellosolve, n-butyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol at the molar ratio of 1.00:0.80-0.85:0.63-0.68, respectively, to produce a hydroxyl-containing alkyde with a mass fraction of non-volatile substances of 67-73 wt % and an acid number of 35-45 mg KOH/g.
