The present invention relates to a method for detecting a failure of a rotating machine using a wavelet and a cyclic algebraic envelope spectrum. A method for detecting a failure of a rotating machine using a wavelet entropy (WE) and a cyclic logarithmic envelope spectrum (CLES), the method comprising: A first step of acquiring a vibration signal; A second step of reducing a noise included in the vibration signal by adjusting a step size of an adaptive filter based on the wavelet; A third step of generating a tacho signal by using a speed fluctuation of the vibration signal; A fourth step of tracking the order, which is the number of events occurring per rotation, on the basis of the tacho signal, thereby eliminating frequency fluctuation of the vibration signal; And a fifth step of detecting a failure of the rotary device by using a circular algebraic spectrum of the vibration signal
