According to an embodiment of the present invention, a sand table system based on spatial augmented reality comprises a depth measuring unit photographing a three-dimensional space image to generate a depth image; a sand table on which a three-dimensional image is projected; and a project unit projecting the three-dimensional image received from the depth measuring unit to the sand table. Moreover, the depth measuring unit includes an image acquiring unit acquiring the depth image; a binarization unit generating a differential image by subtracting a background depth image from a current depth image; a labeling unit labeling the differential image; a corresponding point extraction unit extracting a corresponding point from the differential image; and a plane homography operating unit performing plane homography based on the corresponding point.
