Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for synchronizing time based on a flocking algorithm for an infrastructure wireless mesh network. The method for synchronizing time in a wireless mesh network formed by a plurality of mesh nodes comprises the steps of: transmitting a beacon to a neighboring mesh node for the plurality of mesh nodes; calculating an expected increase in a relevant mesh node based on time synchronization function (TSF) information of the mesh node, corresponding to the time of transmitting the beacon, and an expected TSF value of the neighboring mesh node; and performing time synchronization with the plurality of mesh nodes by updating the time synchronization information based on the calculated expected increase amount of the relevant mesh node.
