摘要
The present invention relates to a method for aerobic oxidative conversion of alcohols to nitriles, and more specifically, to a method for aerobic oxidative conversion of alcohols to nitriles using a heterogenous copper catalyst; and to optimization of reaction conditions applied thereto. According to the present invention, a heterogenous copper catalyst (Cu@C) formed via thermal degradation of an organometallic framework, HKUST-1, and TEMPO are used to oxidatively convert an aromatic primary alcohol (for example, benzyl alcohol) to an aromatic aldehyde (for example, benzaldehyde), and thereafter an ammonia source (for example, ammonia water) is added thereto to oxidatively convert the aromatic aldehyde to a nitrile (for example, benzonitrile) via one-pot system. Thus, nitriles can be obtained with high yield from various substrates, and the heterogeneous copper catalyst, due to maintaining its structure even in the presence of an ammonia source, can be reused at least three times without a significant loss in catalytic activity.
