The present invention relates to a method for establishing a charging protocol of a lithium secondary battery and a system for managing a battery with a charging protocol established in a method. The method comprises the steps of: (1) measuring an SOC value when a potential of cathode electrode reaches a reference value when charged at different charging currents by preparing a three-electrode cell having anode, cathode, and reference electrodes; (2) preparing a two-electrode cell having the anode and cathode electrodes and measuring a potential of the two-electrode cell at the SOC value measured in the step (1); (3) using the potential of the two-electrode cell measured in the step (2) to map a voltage map of the two-electrode cell corresponding to each SOC; and (4) creating a charging protocol using the potential map.
