The present invention discloses a system and method for tuning a gain of a PID controller using an artificial neural network. The present invention calculates an output following value following a current output of a control target system by inputting a control input inputted from the PID controller to the control target system and the current output of the control target system to the artificial neural network and tunes the gain of the PID controller by generating an optimum gain of the PID controller using a variation ratio of the output following value according to the variation of the control input, thereby updating the gain of the PID controller with a small operation amount in real time.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
