A METHOD FOR REVERSIBLE DATA HIDING BASED ON PIXEL VALUE PREDICTION ACCORDING TO SPATIAL LOCALITY AND SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS A METHOD FOR REVERSIBLE WATERMARKING USING IT AND AN APPRATUS FOR REVERSIBLE DATA HIDING REVERSIBLE WATER MARKING
According to an embodiment of the present invention, a data hiding method comprises the steps of: receiving a cover image; receiving confidential data to hide; generating a predicted image based on special locality and surface characteristics from the cover image; receiving a cover image sequence acquired from the cover image and a predicted image sequence acquired from the predicted image to generate a differential sequence; generating a histogram corresponding to the differential sequence; generating a shifted differential sequence by shifting the differential sequence in accordance with shift information acquired from the histogram, and embedding the confidential data in the shifted differential sequence; generating a hidden image sequence by synthesizing an embedded sequence according to the embedding and the cover image sequence; and configuring a hidden image using the hidden image sequence and outputting the hidden image. According to the present invention, it is possible to greatly increase the amount of confidential data that can be concealed in a cover image.
